Following the Summer Program, it is hoped that each chaperone continues to stay connected with the participants and the program by attending Alumni Club meetings and by assisting the Regional Managers as they organize and carry out that program.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Accompanying participants and ensuring their safe passage from the Middle East to the program site (Chicago or San Diego), and then back to the Middle East.
- Being present at program activities to assist program staff as needed, supervising the youth, assisting the youth with their speeches and presentations, and—most importantly— being a trusted confidant and source of emotional support for all participants, with specific sensitivity to their cultural adjustment process.
