Join Hands of Peace as we journey into the music, culture and cuisine of the Middle East at the San Diego Central Library.

Your support will go directly toward the 2017 San Diego summer program and continuing our mission to develop peacebuilding and leadership skills in San Diego, Israeli and Palestinian teens that last a lifetime.

 

 
Tickets purchased before February 20 will be $125, and rise to $135 after February 21.

Todo Mundo (“All the World”) has consistently been voted “ Best World Music” band at the San Diego Music Awards, blending the musical flavors of Spanish Rumba, Reggae, Brazilian, Balkan and Middle Eastern styles into an irresistible groove that has been moving dance floors and sharing the message of peace, love and action with audiences across the world.

 

 

Yale Strom & Hot Pstromi

Hot Pstromi bandleader and founder Yale Strom is one of the most celebrated modern klezmer musicians and music researchers of our time. Hot Pstromi’s fusion of traditional klezmer, Arabic, Gypsy and world beat music fill the halls with soulful, expressive, lively Middle Eastern sounds.

Azim Khamisa, Olive Branch Award Recipient

Azim Khamisa has been a featured speaker to Hands of Peace San Diego summer program participants every year. His message of forgiveness, peace and hope is an unforgettable turning point for our participants for them to look inside themselves, forgive and take action in the wake of trauma and conflict.

Following the loss of his only son Tariq in 1995 to a senseless, gang-related murder, Azim chose the path of forgiveness and compassion rather than revenge and bitterness, and this amazing choice led to the establishment of the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (www.TKF.org) and the subsequent forgiveness movement which has reached millions. Hailed by dignitaries such as the Dalai Lama, Former President Bill Clinton and Al Gore, Azim carries his inspirational message of forgiveness around the world.
