Thank you to all who joined us Sunday, July 26, for our first ever (and hopefully the last) Virtual Family Reunion!
A special thank you to our Hands of Peace Dove Sponsors: Eileen and Bill Ackerman, Karen and Tom Aldrich, Wayne Andersen, Michele and Tom Arnison, Barb and Denny Kessler, Barbara and Michael Lauesen, Board Chair Peg Lee, Bonnie Lucas and Stuart Sondheimer, Heidi and Rich Katz, Carla and Ross Peterson, and Lynn and Lee Sterling.
Celebrating the Purple Shirts
This summer there are no purple shirts are getting off the bus.
In summers past, 90 young Palestinians, Israelis, and Americans would have already arrived in Chicago and San Diego to start their Hands of Peace journey. They would hear each other’s stories, embrace their differences, and learn how to raise their voices to change the world.
Yes, we are absolutely heartbroken not to meet again this year. But we smile as we celebrate the purple shirts that spark so much joy, pride and inspiration. We smile because the purple shirts give us hope. We smile because the purple shirts represent our future.
Watch the videos from volunteers and alumni below, and smile.

Culture Night Recipes
Every Summer, each delegation cooks three courses from their culture (appetizer, main course, and dessert) and then all host families, staff, and board are invited to attend – and eat. To get a taste of what’s on the Summer Program menu, download the recipes here:
